Our take on Andaz West Hollywood - a concept by Hyatt

Formerly a hotel that was known more for its wild parties thrown by rock n' roll legends, the Andaz West Hollywood has changed a lot since the days when it was known as the "Riot House." Andaz is Hyatt's newest concept in hospitality, focusing on delivering stylish accommodations and personalized service. In lieu of a traditional check-in desk, for example, arriving patrons are greeted by an Andaz Host who arrives with a complimentary beverage in hand, while ensuring that rooms have been prepared according to each guest's specifications. Throughout the day, in the Andaz Lounge, you'll be treated to complimentary beverages (including coffee, tea and water), as well as wine in the evening. The subtle touches of luxury continue on into your room, as mini-bars offer complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and healthy snacks (who says nothing's for free anymore?). In addition to standard hotel amenities, like meeting rooms, a gym and free computers for guests' use in the lobby, the Andaz West Hollywood also has a beautiful rooftop pool with killer views. Add to that a notable restaurant, RH, that serves up elegant French-inspired cuisine, and you can easily see and experience all the factors that set this property apart from other hotels nearby.

Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel

Quiet Rooms

Even from floor 8 of the city view rooms, street noise can still be heard. The front side of the hotel may be susceptible to noise from the street, as well as from the House of Blues across the street. There's a pool and a bar on the rooftop, so if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the top floor. You may also want a room towards the back of the hotel. While you'll face a parking lot and residential area/hills, you'll likely enjoy a quieter stay.

Rooms with a View

The View King and View Queen rooms have wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows that give amazing views of West Hollywood. Be careful when booking a room with a "city view"; you'll get a great view on the higher floors (floors 10 and up), but on lower floors, you may have a view of the LED billboards. However, all rooms come equipped with black-out curtains to keep the LED billboard from bothering you.

Oversized Rooms

None of the guest rooms are oversized for their category.

The first 4 floors of the hotel are for parking, so the lobby is on floor 5. The front side of the hotel will have views of the buildings in front, which are just as tall as the hotel. The views from the two sides of the hotel are obstructed by the adjacent buildings. Vista rooms and suites are on floors 15 and up; they're referred to as "Vista" because of the views offered.
