Our take on Willard InterContinental Washington

Labeled the "Crown Jewel of Pennsylvania Avenue," the opulent Willard InterContinental has been a landmark hotel in D.C. since it first welcomed dignitaries and discerning guests in 1818. If you really wanna impress someone, this is the Washington hotel to choose, with its exquisite marble lobby, well-appointed guest rooms and country house-inspired suites. History was made here when General Grant met political lobbyists after the Civil War and Martin Luther King, Jr. composed his "I have a dream" speech in one of the suites. With more awards than it has space to hang them, this five star Washington D.C. hotel is hard to beat. If you can bear to leave the property's Red Door Spa and well-equipped fitness center, consider a stroll through the nearby specialty boutiques or walk two blocks to the White House and see if you can catch a glimpse of Bo, the First Dog.
