Our take on The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel
After recently receiving a $145 million face-lift, the historic Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans is once again one of the city's grandest hotels. The hotel originally opened in the late 19th century as the Grunewald and was known across the South to be one of the most luxurious places to stay and party, thanks to The Cave, which is widely regarded as one of the country's first nightclubs. Throughout its history, the Roosevelt has welcomed famous guests like Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Elvis and Louis Armstrong, to name just a few. Guests enjoy its prime location across the street from the French Quarter, which allow them easy access to sites for both business and pleasure. While you'll likely be spending most of your time out and about in the Big Easy, it'll be hard to tear yourself from your cozy room featuring a pillow-top mattress with a down comforter, a flat-screen TV, bathrobes with slippers and a view of the city.
