Our take on Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Like combining two vacations into one, Disney's Polynesian Resort melds its tropical decor of koi ponds and thatched roofs with its convenient Orlando location, just a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom, to make an unforgettable Disney getaway. Referred to as, "The Poly," this resort is designed especially for traveling families looking for upscale, full-service accommodations in the area. Its 847 luxurious room and suites are housed in 11 two- and three-story buildings, designed to look like Tahitian longhouses. Outfitted in bamboo and rattan furnishings, rooms feature large, marble bathrooms, mini-fridges and views of the hotel's gardens, pool and the nearby lake. If you don't want to venture far for a meal, fear not: you'll have access to four restaurants on-site, one of which even offers an interactive dinner show of Polynesian dancing alongside a tropical feast.

Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel

Quiet Rooms

If you're looking for peace and quiet during your stay, you'll want to steer clear of the pools. You may want to opt for a room with a Theme Park View or a Lagoon View, which overlook the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Rooms with a View

Standard Rooms with Theme Park Views offer the best views of the Magic Kingdom, and of course Cinderella's Castle.

Oversized Rooms

Corner rooms don't offer extra square footage compared to other rooms within the same category.
