Our take on W Hollywood
It's Hollywood, and the W Hollywood is a star. It's bold, it's vibrant and it's where you want to be. Seductive red unfolds before you at every turn, and you'll strut your stuff when you see the red-carpet-lined catwalk. Here, the room names say it all: you've got your choice of the Wonderful Room, Spectacular Room, Fabulous Room, suites named Marvelous, Fantastic, Wow and so on. Everything here is chic and trendy, sleek and wonderful: you've got your hip spa, delectable eateries, rooftop pool and business center. Feel free to pack up your poodle, because even Fluffy will feel at home here. C'mon, you're in Hollywood, so get ready for the spotlight at the W Hollywood.
Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel
For quieter rooms, and to get away from the nightlife noise, book a Fabulous room and request to be on one of the middle floors (floors 5 - 8). That's because the Station Bar is on the ground floor and Drai's is on floor 11.
Rooms with a View
The guest room categories (Wonderful, Spectacular, and Fabulous) are all rooms of the same size -- they just have differing views; Wonderful rooms have views of the surrounding buildings, while Spectacular rooms have views of the valet area and the Station Hollywood bar.
The Fabulous rooms have the best views. These rooms face east and offer views of the hills and Los Angeles' downtown skyline.
You may want to consider upgrading to a Cool Corner Suite. They're only slightly more expensive, but offer more than twice the square footage, with amazing views of the Capitol records building and the Hollywood sign. Also, unlike the Marvelous Suite, which is a one-room studio, the Cool Corner Suite has more separation between the living and bedroom areas.
There is one set of Spectacular rooms, ending in *02 (for example 602 and 702) that have a north facing window with views of the Hollywood sign. These are corner rooms but are actually the same size as the non-corner rooms in the same category.
