Our take on The Hollywood Roosevelt

Want to rub elbows with Hollywood's biggest names, both present and past? Then you won't want to miss out on a piece of Tinsel Town history at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Opened in 1927, the hotel was the site of the first Academy Awards and has long-been a popular Hollywood hotspot. It's purportedly haunted by two stars of the silver screen who loved the Roosevelt so much that they never wanted to leave, even in their afterlife: Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift. But don't worry - there's nothing ghoulish about this hotel. While the hotel's lobby still retains much of its old-world charms, all of its guest rooms have been recently renovated to include modern amenities and stylish designs. It's so nice, you may want to haunt this hotel yourself.

Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel

Quiet Rooms

The hotel holds all-day pool parties on the weekends. The music is pretty loud, but if you're looking to mingle with the Hollywood socialites, that's where you should be. Ask for room in the towers if you'd like a quieter stay; the higher floors offer better views of Hollywood.

Rooms with a View

The Cabana rooms and suites surround the pool area, and the building that houses them is only two floors high. You may be able to see the red carpet events from the tower rooms facing Kodak Theatre.

Oversized Rooms

Corner rooms on or above floor 8 tend to be a bit bigger.
