Our take on Congress Plaza Hotel

If you like the thrill of hearing things go bump in the night, a stay at the Congress Plaza Hotel -- purportedly Chicago's most haunted hotel -- will be right up your ghostly alley. The hotel's long history begins in the late 19th century, when it was built to house visitors of the World's Columbian Exposition. Since then, the Congress Plaza Hotel has seen all types of visitors, from gangsters to presidents. Al Capone once owned the hotel, and his ghost supposedly still roams his old headquarters. Paranormal activities aside, its Grant Park location and views of Lake Michigan and Buckingham Fountain are still as impressive as they were more than a century ago.
