Our take on The Kendall Hotel

Boasting one of the most interesting histories of any Cambridge lodgings, the Kendall Hotel was the city's first historic hotel. Housed in a former Cambridge firehouse, the hotel underwent some major renovations to become the quaint, 80-room boutique hotel that it is today. Like the rest of the property, its guest rooms and suites delicately balance the old with the new, outfitted with antique-reproduction furnishings and modern amenities like free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. As an ode to the motley crew of firemen who used to inhabit the firehouse, the hotel's restaurant, The Black Sheep Restaurant and Bar, gets its name from the nickname the firemen had for themselves. It serves fresh American cuisine with local, organic ingredients. Each morning, guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet, and on weekday evenings, the hotel's rooftop wine hour is a popular spot for guests to enjoy libations and lovely Boston skyline views.
