Our take on W Atlanta Midtown

Perhaps one of the premiere W properties in North America, the W Atlanta Midtown will dazzle even the pickiest of travelers. Found in Atlanta's vibrant Midtown district, you're just steps from Atlanta's second largest financial district and plenty of arts venues, including the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Arts Center. The property opened in 2008 and features a very hip atmosphere to match its clientele of Southern businessmen and women, as well as celebrities looking to party. On Friday and Saturday nights, the lobby transforms into one of the coolest places to be seen in the city. Also in the lobby, you'll find the Spice Market, a popular spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunches with a decor that's inspired by an Asian street market. The property has less than 500 stylish rooms, all with flat-screen TVs, DVD players, MP3 player-compatible stereos and -- the best part -- its signature W bed with a goose-down duvet, 350-thread-count linens and a featherbed-topped mattress.

Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel

Quiet Rooms

Noise really shouldn't be an issue at this hotel. If you're particularly sensitive to noise, just make sure you get a non-connecting room.

Rooms with a View

Views of either Piedmont Park or 14th Street can be enjoyed from virtually every room (rooms along Piedmont Ave. face the park). That said, try to get up to at least floor 12 to enjoy a better vantage point.

Oversized Rooms

There aren't any oversized rooms within the different categories. If you want some extra space, you're better off booking one of the suites (the square footage is almost twice as much as the non-suites).

Rooms ending in *01 - *06 in the South Tower offer incredible city views, including views overlooking Centennial Olympic Park from floors 10 - 15 (e.g. 1002, 1405). The North Tower offers views of the city as well, but these views tend to be more obstructed, so request to be above floor 14 for a better view.
