Our take on Inn at Aspen

Staying at The Inn at Aspen by ResortQuest is like looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. This luxury Aspen resort is located at the base of the Buttermilk Ski Resort, which just happens to be home of the ESPN X Games. All of the excitement of downtown's entertainment, dining and shopping is only two miles away, and if you happen to be staying here during the warmer months, there are two golf courses within a mile of the property. The resort is decidedly family-friendly, and with five different guest rooms and suites to choose from, you're bound to find a room that makes everyone happy. Each of its 122 rooms boast lodge-like decor, as well as a host of great amenities, including plush bedding, a TV, DVD player, free Wi-Fi, and either a private patio or balcony. There's plenty to do on the resort grounds, so go for a dip in the outdoor pool, hop on the ski lift for an impromptu dash down the mountain or stop by the Elkhorn Bar for a stiff drink that will take the edge off that chilly weather.

Insider Tips on the Best Rooms at this Hotel

Quiet Rooms

If you're a light sleeper, ask for a higher-numbered room on the top floor -- like 2272 or 2273 (rooms are numbered from *02 to *73, and the higher the number, the farther back they sit in the building).

Rooms with a View

For gorgeous views of Buttermilk Mountain, request an even numbered room (e.g. 2212, 2214). Odd numbered rooms face the parking area and the highway.

Oversized Rooms

Corner rooms are 2 Queen or 1 King room types. So if you'd like a corner room, be specific about the bed type.

Best Rooms

For the best views of Aspen Mountain, be sure to book a 1 Bedroom Suite in either the 100 or 200 building. Some of the rooms in the 400 or 500 building offer lovely views of Red Mountain, and you can hear Roaring Fork River from them. The Junior Suites in the 600 and 700 building offer lovely views of Aspen Mountain as well. For more privacy, however, you might want to request a room in the back of the building, facing the river (though you won't actually be able to see the river).
