Silicon Valley is one of the most exciting and fruitful places in the world for a young startup to be: there’s opportunity aplenty, access to incredible talent and an abundance of resources. The Room 77 team feels very fortunate to be here. And while Silicon Valley is, in the eyes of many, often synonymous with success, like anywhere else in the world, there are still a lot of people in need of help.
Compelled to give back to our community, we’ve spent the last few months amassing hotel toiletries to donate to InnVision the Way Home, a charitable organization in Silicon Valley that provides homeless individuals and families with shelter and services to help them get back on their feet and on the road to self-reliance. Since we’re in the hotel metasearch business and our team is comprised of avid travelers, it made perfect sense to collect hotel toiletries for donation; we all have treasure troves of unused travel-sized toiletries at home — just take a look at what our small team was able to round up:
Even something as small as a travel-sized bar of soap can make a difference in someone’s life, whether it be allowing a person to take a proper shower before a job interview or preventing hygiene-related illnesses. If you’re a frequent hotel guest who stockpiles travel-sized toiletries or you happen to have a stash collecting dust in your bathroom cabinet, consider donating them to a nonprofit; there are plenty of local and global organizations that depend on these donations.
